Sausage Ricotta Hot Honey Pizza

Ingredients (serves 2 people)

Pizza dough - 1 store bought bag or homemade

San Marzano tomatoes - 1 can of 12 oz peeled tomatoes

Tomato paste - 3 tbsp 

Ground pork - 8-12 oz

Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup shredded 

Ricotta cheese - 1/2 cup 

Hot Honey - 2 tbsp 

Butter - 1 tbsp

Fresh basil - a few leaves

Garlic powder - 1 tsp 

Herbs de Provence - 1 tsp

Onion powder - 1 tsp

Vidalia onion - 1 sweet onion chopped

Salt, pepper, flour, and extra virgin olive oil (on hand, as needed)

Optional adds for your pizza - sugar for your pizza sauce, bacon, pineapple, anything your heart desires!

Steps

1.) Take your dough out of the fridge

2.) Preheat the oven to 485 degrees and put in baking sheet or pizza stone for 20 min to get toasty!

3.) Flour your countertop or large cutting board and rest the dough on it. Set aside

4.) In a medium sized bowl, put onion powder, garlic powder, herbs de Provence, a little salt and pepper

5.) Open the can of peeled San Marzano tomatoes. Use scissors to cut them in half

6.) Pour about 12 ounces of the tomatoes into your spice bowl

7.) Add tomato paste to the sauce bowl. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.

8.) Set your sauce aside

9.) Put a nonstick pan over medium heat with a tbsp olive oil

10.) Throw your pork into the pan, use a spatula to separate into 1-inch cubes

11.) Cook your pork on low-medium until golden brown for about 10 min. Set aside. 

12.) Knead your dough, play with it in the air, roll it out

13.) When you feel like your dough is shaped nicely, lay it on the hot pizza stone or baking sheet 

14.) Spread your homemade pizza sauce on dough, sprinkle mozz cheese and pieces of sausage

15.) Put pizza in the oven for about 12+ min

16.) Take out your pizza from the oven and top with fresh basil, dollops of ricotta, and hot honey drizzle

17.) Take out pizza, cut, and enjoy!
